Introductory Class:

Objective:  Introduce parents to the Parenting Workshop

Focus:  “Above all, realize that children are precious treasures.  Yours is the great task of helping them up to become devoted servants of God and sincere aspirants of the spiritual path.”  Sathya Sai Baba

Instructional Guidance:  What does each parent expect from the class?  Provide overview of the class and format of the class.  Materials needed for each class:  Notebook and writing implement.  Notebook is to be used to note down important take away relevant notes as meaningful to each parent.  Hand out Registration Forms to be completed.  Group and sub group assignments should be made.

 

What is Parenting?

Objective:  Parents should realize that role of a parent is not raising the child to survive in the world but to serve the world and thereby serve God.

Instructional Guidance:  Every parent needs to tell oneself that they are only custodians of a child who is actually the property of the creator. “Parenting is not just giving birth to a child and looking after its physical needs but also providing food and nourishment for its mind and soul. The Parenting phenomenon is a wide spectrum.
